Throughout my college career I have had multiple of what scholars call epiphanies. I had realized early on that I did not want to go to medical school like I had planned. While it was my parents dream, it was not mine (and I did not want to go in debt and be in school for forever). I still love science and learning about the way things work. I then decided to try and be quirky and pursue art. In high school I had learned the love of photography and wanted to try to do that.
Unfortunately the university I was at, Delaware State University, did not offer that as a major or minor. I decided to major in Studio Art. Turns out I’m not much of an “all art” type person, just photography and digital mediums. So I went to the next best thing, New Media in Arts. More digital but I had realized that I could learn everything I was learning through trial and error and Youtube. I didn’t know the business side of it though so I changed once again to management. BUT apparently I couldn't major in that because I wasn’t a junior or some other lame excuse, so I changed to marketing.
I then transferred to Michigan State University after some unfortunate events at my old school. Transferring was the best decision of my life hands down. Since I wasn't in the business college yet, I defaulted to exploring business majors. It was in an introductory python course where I discovered my love for technology. My ULA in that class recommended I switch to Information Science as it was the next big major. I read the courses and the career paths and fell in love. I switched it to Information Science mid semester. And here I am now, Information Science major with a concentration in Human-Centered Technologies and a minor in Information Technology. All this in less than four years. A lot of regret and learning but I am proud to be where I am today. For a more fun side of this page, below is a list of random facts about me.
